Wilkins Township, PA (July 4, 2024) – According to officials, three cars crashed and ended up rolling through a Wilkins Township home on Monday morning.
According to fire officials, a driver was attempting to load a car onto a trailer being pulled by an SUV. That’s when the whole unit broke free, causing a collision and rolling about a thousand feet into a home on Queenson Drive. At least two people suffered unknown injuries, including a potential victim on the street, and were flown to hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their loved ones.
Pedestrian Accidents in Pennsylvania
Across Pennsylvania, pedestrian accidents have increased over the last several years, mirroring a common trend throughout the country. Pedestrian fatalities have risen by almost 20% during this time. Unfortunately, accidents involving pedestrians are more common at parking lots, crosswalks, junctions, and crowded downtown districts.
Furthermore, since there are more pedestrians—especially children—in these places, pedestrian accidents occur more often in regions close to schools and residential communities. Drivers must follow traffic regulations, maintain awareness of their surroundings, and operate their vehicles with alertness and attentiveness. After all, serious injuries or deaths from pedestrian accidents can largely be prevented and are particularly devastating for victims, as they often result in long-term suffering and financial difficulties.
Adding insult to injury, insurance companies often use various strategies to lower or reject claims for pedestrian accidents. They can minimize the severity of the injuries or contest the insured driver’s liability. However, our pedestrian accident attorneys at the Slocum Firm have experience managing insurance negotiations. We are dedicated to defending the rights of our clients and their families.
