
Scott Twp., PA (February 2, 2025) – A serious crash on the interstate left multiple people injured on Saturday evening, prompting a large emergency response.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on February 1 on Interstate 86 at mile marker 203 South. Emergency crews from Chief 24, Engine 24, and 24-8, along with Rescue 18 and 18-9, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Chief 24 confirmed multiple injuries and discovered two occupants trapped inside a vehicle.
Rescue 18 was the first to arrive and immediately began extrication efforts by widening the passenger side to free the trapped victims. Additional support from Engine 24 and Rescue 36 assisted in the rescue operation.
Emergency medical teams from Scott Township Hose Company and Justus Township Volunteer Fire Company were called in for further assistance. A total of four patients were transported to area hospitals by 24-8, 28-9, and 36-9. Their conditions have not been disclosed. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
