Providence Township, PA (May 3, 2024) – According to officials, seven cars were involved in a serious collision, severely disrupting traffic across the region and closing Route 422 for several hours on Wednesday.
The incident happened on Wednesday at about 10:30 a.m. at mile marker 183.8, which is just west of the Route 29 exit. The collision involved four passenger vehicles and three commercial vehicles, including large trucks. Troop K of the Pennsylvania State Police and Upper Providence Police are still looking into the cause of the crash, but in the interim, officials said at least three people were transferred to local hospitals.
