Philadelphia, PA (July 14, 2024) – According to a spokesperson for the Philadelphia Police Department, a police officer was injured in a collision that took place in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon.

Per officers with the PPD, the officer was responding to a scene to assist other officers when the collision occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. Shortly thereafter, the incident took place in the northbound outer lanes at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Saint Vincent Street.

The driver of a black sedan collided with the police cruiser, which resulted in the officer colliding with a white Mitsubishi. The officer was transported to a nearby hospital, and at least one other person was assessed for injuries at the scene. Officials added that police are questioning the first driver at this time, but there is no word yet on what caused the collision.
