Hit-and-Run Accidents in Pennsylvania

Philadelphia, PA - Three Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run at B & Venango Sts

In Pennsylvania, pedestrian accidents—including hit-and-runs—have increased over the last several years. Unfortunately, over this period, there has been a roughly 20% rise in pedestrian fatalities, from crosswalks and parking lots to busy downtown areas and other locations.

Furthermore, since there are more pedestrians and more residents across the state year after year, every motorist must take extra care to adhere to traffic laws, be aware of their surroundings, and drive cautiously and attentively. That said, preventing severe injuries or deaths from pedestrian accidents is not always possible.

To make matters worse, insurance companies often use a range of strategies to reject or minimize claims, even when it comes to pedestrian collisions. These adjusters can try to minimize the seriousness of a victim’s injuries or contest the insured driver’s responsibility in another way.
