Philadelphia, PA (May 15, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car on the Vine Street Expressway (I-676) in Center City Philadelphia on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 4:20 a.m. in the westbound lanes between the exits for Broad Street and the Ben Franklin Parkway. According to Pennsylvania State police, the man was thrown onto the right shoulder as a result of the crash, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver stopped at the scene. Police say the damage to the car was consistent with the driver’s statement, and the driver was not impaired. Investigators are working to learn the identity of the man who was killed, though no further details were released.
