Fatal Car Accidents in Philadelphia
Philadelphia has seen a concerning rise in traffic fatalities, with over 100 deaths reported in 2023. Many of these fatalities are caused by speeding, reckless driving, and poor road conditions. Ongoing traffic congestion and challenging weather conditions, especially during the winter, further contribute to the risk. While efforts have been made to improve road safety, the rising number of fatalities highlights the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and better public awareness campaigns.
Wrongful death occurs when a person dies due to another’s negligence or misconduct, such as in car accidents caused by speeding or impaired driving. Even if the at-fault driver dies, the victim’s family can still file a wrongful death lawsuit against the deceased driver’s estate or other responsible parties. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, funeral costs, loss of income, and emotional distress. An experienced attorney can assist in navigating the legal process and help secure the compensation the family deserves.
