Moscow, PA (May 21, 2024) – Two people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Lackawanna County. Authorities were called to the scene of the crash at around 4:40 a.m. on May 19.
Official reports indicate that a man was driving the wrong way on Interstate 380 during the morning hours when he crashed into a second vehicle head-on. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway near mile marker 21. A third vehicle traveling down the roadway was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision and collided with the second car. Two people involved in the crash were injured and transported to area hospitals. The driver of the first vehicle, identified as Johan Garcia Barrera, was taken into police custody after falling over during a sobriety test and later refusing to consent to a blood draw. The accident is being investigated.
