Maidencreek Township, PA (July 16, 2024) – Berks County authorities are investigating a deadly truck crash on Route 222 that took place over the weekend in the Maidencreek Township area.

It happened early Saturday near the Ontelaunee and Maidencreek Township lines, and initial reports say one of the drivers was trapped and unresponsive in the car. Officials later confirmed that the driver died. At least one victim was reportedly hurt and taken to hospitals after the crash. The roadway has also since cleared following officers’ traffic management in the area, though Berks County officials continue to investigate the incident in the interim.
