Liberty Township, PA (July 17, 2024) – According to officials, one man is dead after a fatal crash that occurred on I-80 on Wednesday afternoon.

State police say a 60-year-old man is dead after a large truck collided with his pickup truck on I-80 near Danville. PSP says they responded to a vehicle crash around 2:30 p.m. on I-80 westbound between mile marker 220 and 221, four miles west of the Route 54 interchange (Danville Exit), in Liberty Township, Montour County.

The release states a truck was traveling east in the construction zone when it struck a concrete barrier and went airborne before crossing into the westbound lane and striking a pick-up truck and another tanker truck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the operators of the other two commercial trucks sustained minor injuries. State police say they are still investigating the fatal crash on Interstate 80, and another release will be put out at a later date.
