Jefferson County, PA (January 2, 2025) – An injury truck crash occurred on Tuesday morning on Interstate 80 in Jefferson County, resulting in injuries to two individuals. The accident, reported by the Pennsylvania State Police at DuBois, happened at approximately 11:08 a.m. near mile marker 90 when a pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer.

According to authorities, 47-year-old Courtney Zimmerman of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, was traveling westbound on I-80 when he lost control of his 2024 Chevrolet Silverado. Zimmerman’s vehicle veered into the right lane, striking a 2019 Freightliner truck driven by 27-year-old Cody Liddy of Commerce Township, Michigan. Upon impact, Zimmerman’s Silverado spun counterclockwise and came to a stop facing south in the right lane, while the tractor-trailer came to rest on the northern berm facing west.

Zimmerman was not injured in the crash, but his passenger, 43-year-old Alba Armenta-Rivera, also of Fort Leonard Wood, suffered injuries. Liddy, the truck driver, also reported possible injuries. All involved parties were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Emergency responders from Falls Creek Fire Department assisted with vehicle extraction at the scene, as the Silverado had sustained significant front-end damage. The injured individuals were transported to local hospitals by ambulance for medical treatment. Traffic was temporarily halted while authorities controlled the scene and cleared the wreckage, with the Silverado being towed away by Bricen Towing.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to all those affected by this tragic accident.
