East Berlin Township, PA (June 4, 2024) – Adams County Coroner, Francis Dutrow. released the name of the man who died over the weekend in a two-vehicle crash in East Berlin, per the latest information available from authorities on Tuesday.

Authorities say that 33-year-old Eric Sterner, of the East Berlin area, died of multiple blunt force injuries. Chief Deputy Coroner, Scott Pennewill, pronounced Sterner deceased at the scene of the crash, Dutrow added. There will be no autopsy, but routine toxicological testing was planned.

The crash occurred about 9:20 a.m. in the vicinity of West King Street when a westbound 2011 Honda collided with a 2012 Dodge 5500 dump truck, according to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) troopers. The driver of the truck, a 69-year-old man, and his passenger, a 67-year-old woman, were both transported by ambulance to Gettysburg Hospital for treatment, according to state police. Sterner, who was in the Honda, succumbed to his injuries at the site of the wreck in a UPMC ambulance. However, no further details were released, and the cause of the crash remains under review.
