Donegal Twp, PA (November 20, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred late Wednesday night on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Donegal Township, tragically claiming the life of an unidentified individual. The incident was reported by the Westmoreland County 911 supervisor, who confirmed that the crash took place around 11:30 p.m. at mile marker 90.8 on the westbound side of the turnpike.

According to local authorities, a person was hit by a car, and emergency responders were dispatched immediately to the scene. Ambulances transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, the individual was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The coroner was called to the scene to investigate the circumstances of the death.

The Pennsylvania State Police, along with local authorities, managed the scene, which involved controlling traffic and ensuring the safety of emergency responders. Firefighters assisted in securing the area and clearing the wreckage. As a result of the collision, the westbound lanes were temporarily closed, leading to traffic delays while authorities conducted their investigation.

The driver of the car that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
