Dauphin Co, PA (April 11, 2025) – A deadly crash occurred on Friday, April 11, in Lower Paxton Township, claiming the lives of two individuals and leaving another injured. The incident took place at approximately 4:36 p.m. in the 4900 block of Jonestown Road near Earl Avenue, according to Dauphin County dispatchers.
Authorities say a silver Dodge minivan carrying three occupants collided with the rear of a white Ford van, which was occupied by a single individual. The impact forced the Dodge van off the roadway, where it struck a concrete wall. Emergency responders from South Central EMS and the Lower Paxton Township Police Department arrived promptly at the scene and secured the area, assisting with traffic control and ensuring public safety.
Firefighters aided in stabilizing the vehicles and extracting the victims. Two occupants of the Dodge minivan, including the driver—identified as 65-year-old Calvin Haivor—were pronounced dead at the scene. The third occupant sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Hershey Medical Center for further treatment.
The driver of the Ford van was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement. The identity of the second deceased victim has not been released as of this time, pending notification of next of kin.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones affected by this tragic accident. Our hearts go out to all who are grieving during this incredibly difficult time.
