Semi-Truck Collisions in Pennsylvania
Across the United States, there were just under 170,000 truck accidents in the last year. Moreover, Pennsylvania wasn’t far behind Florida, Texas, and California (the top states for these crashes) regarding the number of truck accidents. Pennsylvania ranked fourth nationwide with approximately 12,000 truck accidents. Even worse, up to 300 deaths total from these incidents, along with thousands more injuries.
Like many other states, Pennsylvania has a vast network of highways and interstates, contributing to its higher truck traffic and making these accidents a serious concern. Furthermore, the ample size and weight of semi-trucks or tractor-trailers mean disastrous consequences in a collision.
You need to know your legal rights if you or a loved one was hurt in a truck accident in Pennsylvania for all of the above reasons. In Pennsylvania, you deal with more than just your regular vehicle insurance company while seeking compensation for injuries you suffered in a truck collision. For instance, a trucking contractor’s primary goals are to minimize responsibility for accidents involving their drivers and maximize profits.
