Adams County, PA (August 8, 2024) – A deadly car crash occurred this evening on Route 16, resulting in the death of one individual. The collision, reported by the Pennsylvania State Police, took place around 7:10 p.m. near the Adams/Franklin County line. The road was closed for several hours as emergency services responded to the scene.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred in Liberty Township when a Jeep Cherokee, driven by 22-year-old Jocelyn Megee of Fairfield, collided with a westbound tractor-trailer. Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, Jocelyn Megee, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. Firefighters assisted in extracting the vehicles and clearing the debris while ambulances transported the deceased to the hospital. Route 16 was closed in both directions for several hours as authorities worked to manage traffic and investigate the crash.
