Wayne Township, PA (May 11, 2024) – According to state police, a two-car crash claimed the lives of two persons on Friday evening.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the collision happened on State Route 183 in the Wayne Township area of Schuylkill County on Friday night at approximately midnight. Troopers added that the crash involved two vehicles in the northbound lanes of the highway.

The Schuylkill County Coroner said that a 23-year-old man, the driver of one of the cars involved, and a 19-year-old woman, who was his passenger, were declared dead at the site. Another second motorist, a 56-year-old Pottsville resident, was sent to the hospital with unknown injuries. No further details were released, though officers continued to investigate and asked any witnesses to step forward.
