Scranton, PA (June 28, 2024) – A fatal car crash closed Route 422 on Friday morning, as reported by Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 188, Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Troopers from Troop K Philadelphia and Skippack Station are currently at the scene investigating the crash.
According to authorities, a westbound tractor-trailer on Route 422 crossed the median and collided with at least one vehicle in the eastbound lanes. The impacted vehicle veered off the roadway and stopped down an embankment. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As of 9 a.m., eastbound and westbound lanes remain closed due to the crash.
