Philadelphia, PA – Woman Seriously Hurt in Hit-and-Run on Bustleton Ave and Stanwood St

Philadelphia, PA (January 16, 2025) – An injury pedestrian crash occurred on Tuesday morning in Philadelphia, leaving a 47-year-old woman seriously hurt. Law enforcement officials are now seeking assistance from the public to identify the driver involved in the hit-and-run.  

The incident took place at approximately 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Bustleton Ave and Stanwood St. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the woman was crossing Bustleton Ave in the crosswalk when a dark-colored Honda Civic struck her.  

Following the collision, the driver briefly exited the car, moving the injured woman out of the roadway, but fled the scene before emergency responders arrived. Philadelphia Fire Department personnel and EMS were dispatched promptly to the scene, where they stabilized the woman and transported her to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. She remains in critical condition with a traumatic brain injury, officials reported.  

Police officers secured the area, directing traffic and gathering evidence. Investigators have yet to make an arrest and are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
