Philadelphia, PA (March 19, 2025) – A fatal accident occurred in Kensington on Tuesday afternoon when a woman was hit by a U-Haul truck. The incident began as a minor collision at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kensington Ave and Allegheny Avenue After the initial crash, both drivers exited their cars. However, the driver of the U-Haul truck then returned to the car and fled the scene, heading toward the 1800 block of E Cambria St.

Emergency medical teams arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and confirmed the woman’s death. Authorities have reported that the U-Haul driver continued to flee after the collision and remains at large. No other injuries were reported at the scene.

The Philadelphia Police Department, along with local fire crews, managed traffic control and ensured the safety of the surrounding area. Firefighters were also involved in securing the U-Haul and assisting with vehicle extrication efforts. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue their search for the driver.

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly difficult time.
