Philadelphia, PA (November 23, 2024) – An injury car crash occurred early Saturday morning in the Hunting Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, injuring a Philadelphia police officer. The incident took place at approximately 1:11 a.m. at the intersection of 7th St. and W. Luzerne St.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the officer was traveling westbound on W. Luzerne St. when their car collided with a civilian car. The crash caused significant damage to both cars, and emergency responders from the Philadelphia Fire Department were immediately dispatched to the scene. 

Firefighters worked to safely extricate the officer from their vehicle before transporting them to Temple University Hospital. The officer’s injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, and they are expected to be released after treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the crash and are working to identify the driver and vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. The Philadelphia Police Department has urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
