Philadelphia, PA - Fatal Crash on I-95 Near Castor Ave

Philadelphia, PA (March 24, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred on March 21 at Interstate 95 in Philadelphia, claiming the lives of two brothers and critically injuring two others. The incident, reported by the Pennsylvania State Police, happened at approximately 8:15 p.m. on the elevated portion of I-95 near Castor Avenue and Richmond Street.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a 2006 Mazda was involved in a race with a Dodge Challenger on the interstate when the Mazda driver lost control, veering off the overpass and crashing onto the street below. The vehicle landed on Castor Ave, coming to rest on its side.

The two rear passengers, 23-year-old Aaron Davis of Cranbury, NJ, and 22-year-old Joshua Davis of East Windsor, NJ, were not wearing seatbelts, and both were ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, they were pronounced dead at the scene. The two front-seat passengers, 18-year-old Nathaniel Davis and his 18-year-old brother, Benjamin Davis, were critically injured and transported to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.

A puppy that was in the back passenger seat was also ejected from the vehicle and found dead at the scene.

Philadelphia police, along with fire and emergency medical teams, responded to the crash site before 8:30 p.m. Firefighters worked to extricate the vehicle while paramedics provided critical care to the injured brothers. Authorities controlled the traffic situation and ensured the scene was cleared as soon as possible.

The Pennsylvania State Police Crash Investigation Division is leading the investigation into the fatal accident.
