Montgomery, PA (November 29, 2024) – A fatal truck rash occurred early Friday morning in Clinton Township, Montgomery County, when a car collided with a garbage truck, resulting in the death of the driver. The incident, reported by Pennsylvania State Police, took place around 5:00 a.m. on Route 15, just south of the intersection with McNett Rd.

According to Trooper Ryan Smith, the driver of the car, identified as James Haddix, was traveling southbound on Route 15 behind a garbage truck operated by Larry Sauers. As the garbage truck attempted to make a U-turn near a driveway at 6885 Route 15, Haddix collided with the truck from behind. Emergency responders, including fire and rescue teams, quickly arrived at the scene to control traffic and assist in the extraction of the vehicles.

Haddix was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Both Sauers and his passenger, Logan Sauers, were uninjured in the collision. The crash caused significant traffic disruption, with authorities redirecting vehicles as they worked to clear the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
