Middle Paxton Twp., PA (December 29, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred on Friday morning when a Dauphin County park employee was hit and killed by a car on North Front Street in Middle Paxton Township. The accident, confirmed by a spokesperson from PennDOT, took place at approximately 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Fort Hunter Rd and Fishing Creek Valley Rd.
According to authorities, the driver of a car, later identified as Fort Hunter, collided with the park employee while they were walking along North Front St. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save the victim, they were tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.
In response to the crash, all lanes of North Front Street were closed in both directions between Fort Hunter Rd and Fishing Creek Valley Rd for several hours, creating significant traffic delays. The Middle Paxton Township Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, and witnesses are being urged to contact authorities with any information.
