McKean Township, PA (July 27, 2024) – At least one person is dead following a crash on Interstate 90 on Friday afternoon, July 26.
Calls first went out for a crash involving a motorcycle around 2:00 p.m., with crews shutting down part of I-90 eastbound in McKean Township. According to Erie County authorities, at least one person is dead, and it is unclear at this time whether there was another vehicle involved.
PennDOT additionally reported that the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 remained closed in Erie County from Exit 16 (Route 98, Fairview/Franklin Center) to Exit 18 (Route 832, Presque Isle/Sterrettania). However, no further details were released in the interim, and officers presently continue to investigate the wreck and have asked any witnesses to step forward.
