Ligonier Twp, PA (January 27, 2025) – A car crash occurred on Monday, January 27, on Route 711 in Ligonier Township, leaving two adults and five children injured. The crash, reported by Ligonier Valley Police Chief Mike Matrunics, took place at approximately 8:00 a.m. when one of the cars crossed the centerline.

According to Chief Matrunics, the collision involved a Porsche driven by 18-year-old Colin Keough of Latrobe and a Chevrolet Suburban driven by 34-year-old Amy Blythe of Ligonier. Mutual Aid Ambulance spokesperson Shawn Penzera stated that all five children involved in the crash were in car seats at the time of the incident. One adult was flown to Conemaugh Hospital with serious injuries, while one child was transported to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh in stable condition. The remaining victims, including the other children, were taken to local hospitals by ambulance and were listed in stable condition.

Firefighters responded to the scene to extract the vehicles, while local authorities managed the traffic situation during the investigation. The road was closed for several hours as officials reconstructed the crash scene with the assistance of a Westmoreland County detective.
