Lehigh County, PA (December 15, 2024) – A tragic semi-trailer crash occurred early Sunday morning in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County. The crash claimed the life of a Lancaster County man and left four others injured.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Route 309 at Exit 60. Two tractor-trailers and a minivan were involved in the crash.

Authorities stated that three individuals were attempting to push the disabled minivan into the right lane when one of the tractor-trailers hit and fatally injured one of the helpers. The victim’s identity is pending notification of next of kin.

Emergency medical services transported a total of four individuals to nearby hospitals for treatment of various injuries. Firefighters worked to extricate the occupants from the involved vehicles while police controlled traffic to clear the scene.

The accident remains under active investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police. Officials urge anyone who witnessed the collision or possesses dashcam footage to contact Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
