Deer Township, PA (May 18, 2024) – Following a hit-and-run collision in West Deer Township, a dirt bike rider was transported by air to the hospital in major condition this week, and officers have since released further details.

Allegheny County police reported that the dirt bike was struck by a car in a collision that occurred along Saxonburg Boulevard at around 8:30 p.m. The dirt bike rider was critically injured when emergency personnel arrived at the site. He was transported by medical helicopter to a neighboring hospital. Per police, the driver of the car that was involved in the collision fled the scene.

The dirt bike rider and the other motorist seemed to be traveling in the same direction at the time of the incident, according to preliminary information gathered by detectives from the Allegheny County Police Department, who are in charge of the investigation.
