Dauphin Co, PA (August 24, 2024) – A fatal car crash occurred late Friday night in Dauphin County, resulting in one death and one injury. The incident, reported by local authorities, took place at approximately 11:30 p.m. on River Rd (PA-441) near Red Hill Plaza in Londonderry Township.
According to a Dauphin County spokesperson, the car collision occurred at 3805 River Rd. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered one individual deceased at the scene. The deceased was identified as Gideon Derr, 34, from Bainbridge, Lancaster County. The other occupant involved was treated by EMS personnel at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital. The condition of the injured person is currently unknown.
Fire police were on site to manage the situation, including road closures and providing lighting for the Pennsylvania State Police reconstruction team. The road was closed until approximately 5:11 a.m. while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
