Cumberland County, PA (June 24, 2024) – Per local authorities, crews responded to a tractor-trailer crash and fire on I-81 in Cumberland County on Monday morning, according to emergency dispatchers.

The incident closed one of the northbound lanes at Exit 37 to Highway 233 and Newville, according to PennDOT. Traffic was severely backed up until the crash cleared and the road reopened. EMTs transferred at least one person to the hospital, per officials, though their current condition is unknown. Details about the accident are still limited at this time, though officials continue to investigate the incident in the interim.
