Coalport, PA (July 13, 2024) – Police and the Clearfield County coroner were at the scene of a vehicle accident that took place in Coalport on Saturday, July 12.

According to officials who responded to the area, Route 53 was closed in both directions between Poplar Street in Beccaria and Rose Street in Irvona while crews worked to clear the accident. One person died due to the collision. The Glendale Fire Department also reported to the scene, but it’s unclear how many drivers were involved. Details on the crash are still limited at this time. However, an investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and witnesses were asked to step forward.
