Clinton Co, PA (January 29, 2025) – A fatal truck crash occurred on Wednesday morning in Clinton County, claiming the life of a young man from Northumberland County. The incident, reported by the Pennsylvania State Police at Lamar, took place around 8:35 a.m. on State Route 64, just outside eastern Centre County.
According to state police, Joshua A. Lahr, 19, was driving a 2011 Subaru Forester northbound on State Route 64 when he collided with a commercial truck that had stopped in the northbound lane. The truck, which was preparing to turn left into the TruGreen Lawn Care parking lot located at 5967 Nittany Valley Drive, was struck despite evasive maneuvers made by Lahr to avoid the collision.
Lahr was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was transported by emergency medical teams to a nearby hospital. The truck driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was unharmed. Authorities closed a section of State Route 64 between Pilot Flying J and Peach Orchard Road from approximately 8:40 a.m. until 10:40 a.m. to allow for accident investigation and cleanup. The road is a key route near Interstate 80, with traffic control managed by local police and the Department of Transportation’s real-time travel service.
Firefighters from the Walker Township Fire Co. responded to the scene and assisted with the extraction of the vehicles involved while state police and other agencies worked to restore normal traffic flow. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released additional details.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Joshua A. Lahr during this incredibly difficult time.
