Centre County, PA (May 29, 2024) – State police say two people are dead following a three-vehicle crash along the 2400 block of Port Matilda Highway/Route 322 in Centre County on Tuesday, May 28.
Officials say the initial crash involved a head-on collision between two vehicles and that both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say a third vehicle was unable to avoid the collision, and the driver was injured, although the extent of those injuries is unknown at this time. No further details have been released at this time, as officials are working to notify the victims’ families. Route 322, from Black Moshannon Road to the I-99 southbound Altoona/Port Matilda exit, remains closed in the interim. Officers continue to investigate the crash.
