Biography

Integrity, hard work and commitment. Jake Gilboy embodies the core values that The Slocum Firm has always stood for. With an unconventional path into the legal profession, Jake understands what people need when a zealous advocate is required on their behalf.

Jake is a lifelong resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Prior to joining The Slocum Firm, Jake spent nearly two decades in public education working as a high school teacher. Jake then simultaneously earned his law degree from Widener University Commonwealth Law School while working full time and raising his family. Thereafter, Jake spent several years working with one of the largest civil litigation defense firms in Pennsylvania, focusing on federal civil rights and constitutional litigation, including all types of discrimination, employment, municipal and school related claims.

Jake’s wide array of personal and professional experiences now aids him in assisting all clients of The Slocum Firm, where he works tirelessly to achieve justice for those who have been wronged.

Jake enjoys community involvement and coaching youth sports, and is a member of the Board of Directors for The Friends of the Poor, Scranton.
