If you are employed in Pennsylvania and are unable to work, or have lost your job because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), you may be eligible to receive Unemployment or Workers’ Compensation benefits. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) will continue to make updates here as the situation evolves.
If you believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19 while at your workplace, you may be eligible to receive workers’ compensation benefits.
The DLI has outlined 2 situations for which you may be eligible.
- You may notify your employer to file a typical “disease-as-injury” claim, which will require you to provide medical evidence that you were exposed to the Coronavirus disease while at your workplace.
- Notify your employer to file an “occupational disease” claim which will require evidence that COVID-19 is occurring more in your occupation than in the general population.
These are summarized general guidelines so far outlined by the PA DLI. Check back regularly for regular updates as the situation changes.
